It's so easy to make lunches based on our love for spring! After a long, cold winter it's nice to be back up in the seventies here in Atlanta. Some days last week it broke eighty. Aside from the layer of green pollen on everything and the itchy eyes...it's been beautiful!
Today's lunch has a turkey sandwich cut into flowers on whole wheat bread, skewered on some adorable sticks from AllThingsforSale. Along with that is a cheese stick, tomatoes and some potato sticks. I threw in some delicious tangerine butterfly shortbread cookies that I found at HomeGoods. I love their little food section. Fun, different food items to make a lunch just a little different. I went a little nuts there today so this weeks lunches will be extreeee special.
We went to the Atlanta Dogwood Festival yesterday with the Girl Scouts and had a great time volunteering and eating...lots and lots of eating went on down there. Everything seemed to be $5, too, so with 7 girls and 3 adults, we almost broke the bank. If you're ever in Atlanta when the festival is going on, I'd highly recommend it. My girls enjoyed their first candy apples and carnival rides. I can't believe they went on the rides...for ten years, we've avoided Six Flags and Disney! May have to choke back my fears and bring them someday.
Gyro...with the absolute best cucumber dressing I have ever had!
Fried Pickles??!! Yes, please...
pedal run carousel...look at that smile!
